“Be Cool Stay at School – A collection of activities”

This ‘part’ of work is the result of the collaboration of the three schools of the “Be Cool stay at School” project which was implemented between 2019 and 2022. These schools are: the Geniko Lykeio of Valtino Trikala, the Escola Secundaria de Sao Perdo da Cova, Gondomar and the Elliniko Lykeio Monaxou “Konstanin Caratheodory”.

The objectives of our project can be accomplished through the implementation of many different activities and actions in various fields, including those we have been pursuing so far. In our project we had the opportunity to discuss and work on the concept of connectedness in school community and the factors that influence it.

There are many factors that influence students’ connection to school and of course we did not deal with them all. What we want is each school to present some activities or practices that help students to be connected to school. These activities and practices may relate to different areas for each school. For example someone could mention that debate organized with students enable them to develop relationships and interactions, someone else that a reading group do the same. In the same way another school may have some different ideas which inforce the connectedness to school and may relate to different topics. For example, some kind of group peer activities (cultural, educational) may help students to develop relationships. Another idea, is the development of social emotional skills in order to enchase the peer interaction and the communication skills between students and help them to manage better the conflicts and problems that face in school. So, each school or even each teacher has the right to choose the most proper and suitable way for it.

We aspire to be a guide for our schools and perhaps for other schools also to continue to serve the goals of our cooperation.
